7th Finance and Management Trophy – Alsace and Lorraine at the Castle of Lunéville
Date on 06/14/2016 at 10:54
Thursday June 9th 2016, Passionartly was honored to attend the 7th "Finance and Management trophy of Alsace and Lorraine".
What is it?
The Association of Financial Directors and Business Controllers brings together 3000 members of professionals related to both private companies and public institutions. They meet every month to share their knowledge, skills, network and break the isolation by debating on various current topics connected to their field.
This trophy rewards the best CFO in the region of the year. In 2016 the Alsace and Lorraine winners are respectively Michele Vera from "Potasse et produits chimiques" and Isabelle Baré from "M-Energie".
Passionartly congratulates the winners and all the other candidates.
The competition took place at the Castle of Lunéville, about thirty kilometres from Nancy. The building was built in the year 1000 and belonged to a succession of dukes of Lorraine from the thirteenth century. Duke Henry II destroyed the wooden building for a more modern one, but it quickly deteriorated during the Thirty Years War (1618-1648).
Leopold I, Duke of Lorraine sought refuge there and made it his main residence in 1702. In 1701 he started a programme of major work to restore it. He appealed to Germain Boffrand, a student of the famous architect Jules Hardouin-Mansard who made the plans of Versailles's castle. Boffrand made of Lunéville the "little Versailles of Lorraine", also called "the castle of light" where the Arts, Letters and Sciences are intertwined.
Stanislas moved to the castle of Lunéville in 1737. There he launched some beautification projects in the gardens with the help of Emmanuel Héré, the same architect who planned Nancy's Place Stanislas, one of the most beautiful square in the world. The Duchy of Lorraine was annexed to the kingdom of France in 1766, when Stanislas died. It later became "the cavalier city" because many cavalry regiments settled in there until the dawn of the twentieth century.
In 2000 the General Council of Meurthe-et-Moselle acquired the estate. Unfortunately, three years later, on the night between 2nd and 3rd January 2003, a fire destroyed the building. Since then the casle has undergone significant restoration work.
Twelve Passionartly' art pieces decorated these places full of history as well as finance representatives. The artists honoured are:
For photography: Aurore Delsoir (Belgium) and Bénédicte Merle (France)
For painting: Emerich Meerson (Germany), Marco Perna (Italy), Yuri Jarkikh (Russia) , Michèle Martino (France), Pepe Madrid (Spain) and George Couvois (France)
You can find our artists exhibiting on Passionartly website.
